When Fatigue Hits: Adjust Without Guilt

This week, I’m feeling the strain of balancing my endurance training with my daily job as a tech instructor. On top of that, I’m teaching a class, which takes a lot of energy. Last week, I ran nearly 40 km, and this week, I’m supposed to increase by 10%. But with the wet, cold weather and my energy levels running low, getting out for today’s session feels like a real challenge.

Rather than forcing myself through a tough run, I’m considering a smarter approach—shifting the session to a day when I feel fresher, splitting the distance into two shorter runs, or even swapping in some cross-training. Training for an endurance event is a long game, and consistency matters more than pushing through a bad session just for the sake of it.
